Recently, NASA’s X-59 QueSST aircraft made its way to the Lockheed Martin Skunk Works in Palmdale, California. This pivotal step indicates that the supersonic jet is now prepared for a series of comprehensive ground tests, primarily focused on ensuring its safety before its inaugural flight. The X-59 QueSST is no ordinary aircraft; it represents a groundbreaking development in aviation, designed to exceed Mach 1 speeds while significantly reducing the sonic boom to a mere thump, barely noticeable to those on the ground. Named the Quesst mission, the success of these tests could potentially pave the way for the introduction of commercial supersonic air travel in the not-so-distant future.
